Benefits of Circumcision
Technique
Dr. Goldberg’s technique aims to align with the highest standards of medical care, as well as follow stringent Orthodox halacha (Jewish law).
His method will be clean, efficient, and virtually painless for your baby.
NO CLAMP will be used, with the aim of keeping to the highest standards of halacha.
He will apply a dressing immediately afterward, and provide clear guidance on how to care for your son after the Milah.
God commanded Abraham, the first Jew, to first circumcise himself and his family, and then to circumcise his son Isaac on the eighth day of his life.
From this point forward, circumcision has been carried out faithfully by the Jewish people from generation to generation, as a sign of our eternal covenant with God, of our commitment to Him, and Him to us.
In addition, circumcision is a physical manifestation of our commitment to God, an attempt to elevate every part of ourselves to the highest purpose and remove any barriers that distract us from that goal.
Interestingly, we learn from the way that God commanded Abraham to circumcise his son that the mitzvah of Brit Milah is in fact placed in the hands of the baby’s father to circumcise his son. If the father chooses, he may designate a Mohel to act as a “messenger” in his stead, which has become the prevalent custom.
Although we perform Brit Milah for the spiritual reasons noted above, parents may be pleasantly surprised to know that circumcision provides medical benefits as well:
Decreased rate of urinary tract infections (UTI) in the first year of life
Lower risk of penile cancer
Avoidance of conditions such as phimosis, paraphimosis, and others, that aside from causing pain and complications in of themselves, may necessitate emergent/urgent medical circumcision later in life.
